General Instructions for Paper / Poster / Table Clinic Presentations


1)One member is allowed to present a maximum of only one paper and/or one poster and/or one table clinic in a conference for being judged in a competitive category. In case of multiple entries, only the first one will be considered to be for inclusion in the competitive section.
2)Papers shall be accepted in only three categories: Research, Clinical, Clinical Innovations.
3)Posters shall be accepted in only three categories: Research, Clinical, and Clinical Innovation.
4)Table Clinic shall be accepted in only two categories: Research & Clinical.
5)All papers and posters should be prepared and presented as per the guidelines given.
6)The complete presentation (including photos, tables and charts etc., if any) shall be submitted to ioszonalpgabstract@gmail.com before May 10, 2025
7)The paper/ presentation shall be self-certified in the application form.
8)The papers submitted shall be screened and only 30 papers will be selected for Competitive presentation in each category.
9) In the Free-paper presentations that vie for awards, (paper/poster/table clinic), only name of the presenter (e.g. Dr. xxxxyyyyy) shall be allowed to be displayed on just the Title Slide. The presenter/first author‘s qualifications, degrees, names of co - authors, institution, place, etc., as a form of possible identification shall not be allowed to be displayed. If any presentation does so, it will be automatically disqualified for being considered for an award.
10) In each category, awards shall be given for the first three places in the paper, poster and table clinic sections, provided there be sufficient number of entries. If the number of entries is only 10-15, only two awards will be presented. If the number of entries is less than ten, only one award will be presented. Totally, not more than 3 awards shall be given for each of the three sections (paper, poster and table clinic). Multiple „shared‟ awards for each of the 1 st , 2 nd and/or 3 rd prize shall not be given. If there is „tie‟ for any category, the Scientific Convener’s decision will be final should the judges not wish to restrict the award to any a single recipient.
11) For paper presentations, a time of 08 minutes for presentation plus 02 minutes for discussion shall be allowed.
12) All posters should be presented digitally. The name of the first author has to be at the lower right corner with a font size of not more than 48.
13) Posters can be either poster board format or E format.
14) All efforts shall be made by the Scientific Committee Convener to collect the complete manuscript from all speakers / presenters before presentation and to obtain his / her consent to publish the same in the Journal of Indian Orthodontic Society. Orations as well as Guest Lectures by invited speakers who lecture for 45 minutes or more will be exempt from this pre-condition.
15) Non-competitive paper presentation section may be included (if there are papers in the said category) at the discretion of the Organizing Scientific Committee.


GUIDELINES FOR PAPER PRESENTATION  

(Research/Clinical /Clinical innovation Category)

1. The oral presentation will be of 8 minutes (7 minutes for presentation + 1 minutes for discussion) Size : Widescreen (16:9) ratio
2. Maximum no. of slides must be 25 with the following subheadings: a. Title (1 slide) b. Introduction (1 slide) c. Aim/objectives (2 slides) d. Methodology (4-5 slides) e. Result & discussion (7-8 slides) f. Summary/conclusion (2 slides) g. Reference (1 slide)
3. Use a font size of 26–32 for content slides, which should have no more than eight lines of text.
4. Last date for X submission is 21 April 2025.
5. The facilities for the PowerPoint and overhead projections will be available at the conference.
6. Submission of Final Presentation Last date 10 May 2025

GUIDELINES FOR POSTER PRESENTATION 

(Research/Clinical /Clinical innovation Category)

1. The Poster must be prepared in an E-poster format , Size : Widescreen (16:9) ratio
2. The poster must be well organized in two columns. Keep the text brief. Avoid long blocks of text. Use bullet points if possible. Include photographs and pictures
3. Present numerical data in the form of graphs, charts, or simple tables. Maximum 5 tables/diagrams/graphic representations are allowed.
4. Poster must be in white background, fonts and letters must be legible and readable from at least 2 feet distance.
5. Poster must be displayed in the digital display and the presenter can explain the poster for 4 Minutes
6. The last date for poster abstract submission is 21 April 2025.
7. Last minute submission of poster will not be entertained.
8. The presenting author is expected to be present with their posters for discussion.
9.Submission of Final Presentation Last date 10 May 2025


GUIDELINES FOR TABLE CLINIC

(Research/Clinical /Clinical innovation Category)

  1. Size of the table: 2 ft x 1.5 ft.
2. Time limit for Table clinic presentation: 5 minutes + 2 minutes (for Discussion).
3. For table clinic presentation, maximum of two presenters are allowed. (Certificate will be given to both the presenters)
4. Certificate of presentation will be provided only to registered delegates.
5. The scientific committee shall solely determine acceptance of an abstract to a particular session.
6. Abstract can be submitted only for Competitive category.
7. For Table clinic - The abstract within 300 words should be submitted in pdf format The last date for abstract submission 21 April 2025.
